We recognize that entering a new building and community can sometimes be a bit intimidating. We hope this information will make your experience more enjoyable and prepare you for joining us on Sunday! We are genuinely happy you are considering St. Matthew's, and are here to help your feel at home among us.
Parking: St. Matthew’s has a several parking areas: A large parking lot near the main entrance; a small handicapped parking lot to your right as you turn into the driveway, and three visitor spaces closest to the main doors.
There are two entrances to St. Matthew’s: one up from the large parking lot and one close to the small handicapped parking area When you enter the church doors, you will be greeted and given a bulletin for the service. If you need to know where bathrooms are located, please ask the ushers and they will direct you.
We have three worship services:
Sunday 8:30 am and 11:00 am. These services follow the Book of Common Prayer’s Rite II Holy Eucharist with choir. The 11:00 am service is live streamed and available on our YouTube channel. We use three books during worship: The Book of Common Prayer (red) and the Hymnal 1982 (blue) and the Alleluia III Songbook (yellow) . All are found in your pew, and the Book of Common can be found online. The attitude at both services is welcoming to people at every stage of life.
Sunday 5:00 pm in Gruman Hall. This is a more relaxed service with contemporary music from the Alleluia III Songbook led by a small choir, guitar, piano and other instruments. All are welcome!
Communion is offered every Sunday to those who desire to receive it. Feel free to join us at the altar rail to receive communion or a blessing by simply crossing your arms across your chest. If you’d like to stay in your pew while others go up, that is perfectly ok. Following the Sunday services, a simple time of coffee and fellowship is available where we can get to know you and one another better. It is also a time where you can get more information about what we offer and where you can get plugged in to our community and ministries.
Childcare is available during the morning services. The usher can guide you to the room
Sunday School is available following the 8:30 am service. It is available for Pre-K through High School grades.
Adult Sunday School classes meet after the 8:30 service in the Education Building. Traditional Bible Study is offered in one classroom and a book study/discussion group is held in the other
For those who simply want to socialize or learn more about our parish life and ministries from other parishioners, please join us in Gruman Hall for informal coffee and refreshments after each service.
To those who have no church home we offer an invitation to join our worship, our programs and our fellowship. We hope that you are moved to join us and our community. Together, and with the love of Christ, we can make a difference in each other's lives and the lives of our neighbors.
