Homeless day center and case management. Our support includes gathering supplies needed for the homeless in our area. as well as financial support.

St. Matthew’s is a drop off site for the Continuum of Care’s annual Blanket and Cold Weather Drive in Madison during the cold weather season. The Continuum serves Madison, Limestone and Morgan Counties. For more information, please contact our deacon.

A ministry of the Episcopal Diocesan Youth Department , Sawyerville creates opportunities for children and youth from Hale County, AL. Included are Summer Camps, Summer Learning Program, Mentoring, Person2Person weekends, and Scholarships. St. Matthew’s supports Sawyerville financially and with volunteers.
A ministry of the Diocese of Honduras, El Hogar was started in 1979 and provides a quality education and safe, nurturing home to children living in vulnerable conditions in the country. St. Matthew’s proudly supports this ministry financially.
Step by Step is a therapeutic riding program and petting zoo. Our parishioners volunteer to help to care for, feed and water the animals as well as provide financial support

The Food Bank of North Alabama provides hunger relief programs for those in immediate need, St. Matthew’s provides financial support for this important agency.

In addition to monetary donations, our support of ENABLE of Madison County includes teams of volunteers weatherizing the homes of our low-income elderly and homebound neighbors.
Thrive Alabama empowers its patients to create a healthy community by providing compassionate, accessible, affordable, comprehensive care, regardless of the patient’s insurance or financial status. St. Matthew’s provides financial support for Thrive Alabama.
Kairos Inside is a ministry whose mission is to develop a Christian community inside prisons.
The Kairos Inside program brings positive and negative leaders together, in both male and female institutions, for a 3 ½ day Weekend led by same gender Kairos volunteers.
For many participants, the Kairos Weekend creates the desire to become a Christian, and for others the desire to continue his/her spiritual growth. POC: Paul Marques ptmarques@bellsouth.net
https://www.kairos-al.org/ko.html Kairos Outside is a special weekend retreat designed to support the female loved ones of men and women who have been incarcerated. Families of the incarceration “do time” right along with their loved ones. In a safe environment with volunteers sharing the love of God, the guests for the weekend interact with other women who are in similar situations and learn to form support groups to sustain each other. St. Matthew’s has provided countless volunteers serving on the staff for these weekends, including numerous team leaders. Financial support is also provided.
Since 2019 volunteers from St. Matthew’s have traveled to Kenya to help staff the Kenya Relief medical/surgical clinic, orphanage and school Supplies are donated by parishioners for this mission trip and in 2022 funds were donated to help acquire a much needed ambulance for the clinic..
Each June young people and adults, from our parish, lead by our Youth Ministry and her husband, travel to Puerto Rico to help in any way they can, with Vacation Bible School, building and refurbishing efforts, painting, you name it!

We proudly support this world-wide ministry with an annual special offering during the spring.
https://liftupthevulnerable.org/ LUV is an ecumenical Christian mission organization that prevents the trafficking and oppression of vulnerable children and women in the conflict zones of Sudan and South Sudan. in 2023 Audrey Moore, LUV’s executive director, preached at all three services as well as address the adult Sunday School group at 20am. A special offering and donation from the outreach budget were contributed.
