Scouting America

 

In 2022, St Matthews decided to start a Boy Scouts of America (https://www.scouting.org/) Ministry with our local council, the Greater Alabama Council (https://1bsa.org/).  Fr. Chris selected Andy Williams (adw22@cornell.edu) to be our Chartered Organization Representative.  At this time, St. Matthew's operates one Scouting America Troop 628 (https://www.troop628al.org/) for girls ages 11 to 17.  We are also contemplating starting a Cub Scout Pack for youth in Kindergarten through fifth grade.

We were excited to celebrate our first Scout Sunday as a Charter Organization on 12 February 2023.  (see photo)
