Social and Environmental Justice Work

In response to our growing awareness of cries for justice long unheard, we desire to cultivate a parish where the full expression of God's image is united in love and advance our local community toward justice, mercy, and peace in all aspects.  We invite you to join us as we explore our own experiences of race and those of our neighbors, with humility, compassion, and hope.

 Your St. Matthew’s Creation Care ministry is focused on stewardship of God's creation in the city and county of Madison. We have three ways for you to support this ministry:

• First, we're currently brainstorming ways for St. Matthew's to partner with the Diocesan Task Force for Creation Care to educate our community and care for God’s Creation.  One of our ideas is to develop long-range plans for the St. Matthew’s woods.   
• Second, we can also use help caring for our butterfly garden.  This is occasional work supported by our Scouts BSA troop as well!
• Third, we can use help with recycling on the St. Matthew's campus.  This involves collecting recyclables on the campus (instructions available), and taking them home to your blue bins.
