Strategic Plan

The Plan’s History

In 2020, an extensive effort went into developing a St Matthew’s Strategic Plan for the coming years. This activity culminated with the Plan being approved at the December 2020 Congregation Meeting. (To see complete plan, click on Strategic Plan button below)

Early in 2021, the Vestry authorized the formation of a Strategic Plan Implementation Committee. The Committee acts as a catalyst for initiating efforts identified in the Strategic Plan. This often includes initial brainstorming for accomplishing the effort, recruiting congregation members to lead efforts, when requested, helping/mentoring and organize early Committee meetings, and informally monitoring committees/individuals implementing parts of the plan over the course of the year. 

Accomplishments, 2021-2023

Much has been done to accomplish the tasks laid out in the Strategic Plan since 2021. So much so, a separate “Strategic Plan Progress Update” brief has been prepared and is posted along with Strategic Plan below for downloading. 

Planned Efforts for 2024

It’s been more than three years since the Strategic Plan was implemented. Like all strategic plans, St. Matthew’s plan needs to periodically be reviewed and updated given progress on the plan, and a the Church’s emerging needs. To the end, a Strategic Plan Update Committee has been formed and in 2024 will be reviewing past planning, needs of our growing Church, and recommending new efforts to the Rector, Vestry and Congregation by the end of 2024.
